Renee Cochee's fourth grade class received a home work assignment to do a “family tree”. She was able to ask her grand parents, and great grand parents for information. This lead to a life long interests in genealogy . In 1986 she joined the California African American Genealogy Society. During this time she was able to find ancestors as far back as 1660 colonial Virginia, also in Africa, Asia, and Europe. Cochee still plans to find more ancestors in the future.
