What’s New in 2021

Jamboree Reimagined!  Education and fun from the comfort of your home.

What’s different about Jamboree 2021?

This year, Jamboree offers our normal, high quality speakers over two conferences – Genealogy Jamboree and Genetic Genealogy – but virtually. Instead of meeting in a hotel conference room, we’ll meet online in a virtual conference room for “live” presentations. We’ve chosen to spread the conferences over two, two-day events.  The Genetic Genealogy conference will be Friday & Saturday, June 4 & 5 followed by Genealogy Jamboree on Friday & Saturday, June 11 & 12.

Each conference consists of six presentations you can join live or access later in the library of recorded presentations. In addition to the 6 live presentations, there will be 20 Genetic Genealogy and 50 Genealogy Jamboree recorded sessions. Both the live and recorded presentations will be easily accessed by clicking a link from our website or through an email we send you.

Do I need special technology to access the virtual conference?

Probably not. You will need access to a computer, laptop, tablet or smartphone and an internet connection.

What are my registration options?  What’s the difference between Standard and Plus registrations?

There are two registration packages available for each conference – Standard and Plus.

Both registration packages give you access to the live presentations and other events throughout the conference week, such as social hours, exhibit hall hours and other bonus activities.

The Standard package allows you to choose a limited number of presentations to watch at your leisure – 10 recordings are included in the Genetic Genealogy Standard Registration and 30 recordings are included in the Genealogy Jamboree Standard Registration.

The Plus registration gives you all the access granted in the Standard package plus access to ALL the recorded sessions for that conference – all 20 Genetic Genealogy and all 50 Genealogy Jamboree.

Are there registration discounts available?

Yes!  There's a discount if you register for both conferences. There's also a discount for SCGS members. And, as always, there's a discount for registering during the Early Bird special on/before April 26, 2021.

SCGS members registering early for both conferences get the best deal!

Can I preview the speakers and presentation topics?

Yes!  The full schedule is available now. Explore the Genetic Genealogy and Jamboree live schedules and Recorded Libraries here.

How do I register?

Register here.

You can pay by credit card or indicate you are sending a check.  If you choose to send payment by check, full access may be delayed up to 10 days until we can receive and process your payment.

What if I miss the “live” presentations?

No worries!  The live presentations will be recorded, including the Q&A, and posted to the Recorded Library for that conference within a few days of airing.  We’ll notify you when they are available to watch.

Can I watch a presentation more than once?

You can watch the presentation recordings you purchased with your registration as many times as you like.  You can start a recording, stop, skip ahead and restart as your time and interest permits.

When does access to the Recorded Library open and close?

For the Genetic Genealogy conference, the library of recorded presentations opens Saturday, June 5 and closes Sunday, October 10, 2021

For Genealogy Jamboree, the library of recorded presentations opens Saturday, June 12 and closes on Sunday, October 3, 2021.

Are there handouts for the presentation?

Most classes have handout materials.  When you click the link to watch the class, you will see an additional link to open the handout pdf.  You may choose to print the handout or just have it open on your screen as you watch.

Can I record the live or recorded sessions?

NO RECORDINGS ARE ALLOWED. All presentations and handouts are the property of the speaker and may not be reproduced or used for purposes other than your personal education. Please respect the time and effort these educators have given to create outstanding learning opportunities.
